| Job description | We require an accountant for a fast growing residential property business. We have a great opportunity to grow a small business into a large business over the next five years.
As a group we have diverse interests from foreign commercial property investments to venture capital deals. Our firm is based in and around the south east and the midlands. Being a fast growing business we offer a wide variety of opportunities to individuals and are currenty looking for someone to organise and control our accounting and tax function. Due to the small size of the firm you will have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills in a wide variety of area. This firm is a target driven business and all the staff benefit and are rewarded for their hard work. You are a driven, hard working, proactive individual who likes to succeed, and does not mind putting in the hours to get the results. You have a minimum of two years post graduate experience. Duties will include the following : Be the main point of contact for all accounting or accounting related issues. Complete year-end accounts and management accounts for limited companies and partnerships. Work with the constructions teams to get the best quality and prices for materials. Prepare budgets and KPIs and set criteria for quarterly performance reviews. Support the management team by providing weekly, monthly and ad-hoc financial KPIs including feedback and recommendations on operational, marketing and merchandising issues. Maintain and develop the models used to provide this information. Recommending cost cutting or changes where necessary. Research and explore alternative methods of raising finance in order to support the future growth strategy of the organisation both in the UK and abroad. Some experience in international taxation and transfer pricing helpful. Be able to develop internal controls and procedures, and get the best from your own resources Liaise with German and other banks and accountants for our foreign portfolios. Complete Company and partnership tax returns to include PAYE, unearned income, tax deductions, pensions and partnership income Maintain a personal development plan to update technical knowledge through formal and informal training to recognised standards Be able, knowledgeable and competent on Microsoft Word, Excel and a recognised accounting package - Sage or similar, and be able to learn new accounting programs within short timescales. Increase your personal knowledge through education, training and experience. Assist the chief executive with ad-hoc analysis and various projects within the company.
