| Job description | The role is a key position at a top London Digital agency. You will be supporting the current Lead Back End Developer. As such you should be able to work well within a team, have good time management, be proactive, and be able to take direction while raising issues and offering solutions in a constructive manner.
The job will entail coding of straightforward back end tasks: writing Rspec tests, building CRUD controllers & views for admin CMS, surfacing data on the Front End in an appropriate fashion. It is important to note that the successful candidate will have no input into graphic design and very little into interface design (the client tends to use dedicated resources for this), and that there will be little call for CSS expertise beyond the ability to place surfaced data on a page in an appropriate fashion (suitably named classes and divs, etc), so candidates who are keen to demonstrate their ability at polishing prettiness may not be suitable. The client also uses HAML wherever they can, so applicants will need to know HAML. You will need to be able to demonstrate examples of source code of previous projects and to talk about the processes and challenges involved. |
