| Job description | We are a friendly multi-cultural professional couple in their mid-thirties seeking a warm, well-organised and experienced nanny who is either an Italian, Spanish or French native speaker to help us take care of our baby. Fluency in English is required.
This is our first child so and we are looking for someone to play an important role in our family. This person should have a joyful presence, an enthusiastic approach to life and genuinely love children. If you do not have Italian, Spanish or French as your mother tongue please DO NOT apply for this position. We are willing to interview non-career childcare applicants provided you have previous experience with babies and small children. Responsibilities: - Sole charge of baby born in August 2008 - Carry out a structured but flexible daily routine agreed upon with mum and dad. Instil discipline with care. Keep mum and dad informed of baby’s day and activities - Taking baby to play and music groups in neighbourhood - Preparation of meals – including a willingness to prepare fresh organic meals for baby - Doing baby’s laundry - Inform parents of needed supplies. Willingness to pick-up odd supplies as needed. We do have a professional cleaning service twice a week for thorough cleaning of the house and ironing/laundry. However, we do expect a certain level of tidiness and help around the house including emptying trash as needed, filling/emptying dishwasher as needed and folding the odd basket of laundry as time allows. HOURS/SALARY: - The position would be on a part-time basis through the end of August or September and full time beginning in the fall. Pay flexible pending experience. - Hours to be determined on application. - Additional babysitting as negotiated pending availability. - Willingness to travel with family but not required. Career childcare a plus. - Strong preference for experience with babies. - Commitment of at least one year - Driver’s license not required as most activities within walking distance |
