| Job description | IT consultancy seeks IT Systems Engineer to provide 2nd/3rd level technical support for its clients. A highly experienced and professional all-rounder is required to deal with a wide range of issues; from replacing PC components to Server administration and troubleshooting complex issues.
This role will involve regular travel to and between client sites, mostly in South East London. A full driving licence and own car is essential and the successful candidate must be prepared to work outside office hours on occasion. The Company is an independent computer consultancy boasting a wealth of experience to supply a wide range of services and products to a range of business sectors, from buying that first PC to conceiving and maintaining the most complex of network installations. The IT Systems Engineer role includes: Providing 2nd/3rd line support for software, applications and hardware technologies Ensuring that tasks are performed correctly and in a timely manner Delivering high-quality communications to customers Service request fulfillment IT Systems Engineer - Skills/Experience: The successful IT Systems Engineer must be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a MCSE qualification. The successful applicant must also have the following: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills A structured and systematic approach to problem solving Initiative and ability to work under pressure Excellent organisational and time management skills Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal Superb telephone and customer-facing manner with a patient demeanor Excellent networking skills and extensive experience with SBS technologies Relevant and proven experience of supporting Windows Server platforms and Microsoft Exchange The following skills and experience would also be highly desirable: Sharepoint, Symantec AV, Smoothwall, Asterisk, Small Business Contact Manager, ACT Sage, Quickbooks, AutoCAD. CCNA, A+ or equivalents Experience of TCP/IP and troubleshooting techniques (eg TCPDUMP) Network security administration experience (eg Firewalls) Oracle Database experience. Linux/Unix platform and/or C/sh/perl experience |
