Job description Birkbeck College Students' Union, based in Bloomsbury, is seeking to award a commission to a website designer/creative online consultant to develop and launch its new website.

The current website is at www.bbk.ac.uk/su and is in need of a wholesale shake-up.

BCSU is a company limited by guarantee and an exempy charity under the Charities Act 1993. It is govered by Trustees and managed on a day to day basis by an Executive Committee of elected students. Birkbeck College is predominantly an evening higher education institution, and a constituent College of the University of London.

Following our strategic overhaul in 2008, our communications strategy is uppermost in the Executive's minds for refreshment. We are seeking to appoint an individual who is most likely still at university or further education college, or has this creative skill as a long-term hobby to publish a portfolio for our new website, to populate it with materials available from our staff and elected officers/campaigns.

Application is strictly by CV and covering letter only and must be emailed to r.park@bcsu.bbk.ac.uk no later than 12 noon on Monday 27 July 2009. Examples of website projects or website design is encouraged and this must be sent in the covering letter as a URL.

Rates are negotiable.

Successful candidates will be invited to an expenses paid interview where your ideas and portfolio will be examined.
