Job description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Senior Account Manager

Horsesmouth.co.uk is a two year old social enterprise with a mission to use social media for a real social purpose. We run the UK’s largest website for informal online mentoring. The website is for young people and adults (16 plus) and now has over 20,000 people actively supporting others in areas of health and wellbeing; education and careers as well as business and enterprise. It has the potential to help transform the delivery of public services and the scale and experience of volunteering in the UK.

Horsesmouth is funded by hosting partnerships with Government, Voluntary and Private Sector organisations. (It is not funded by advertising). These partnerships range from delivering advisory services to promoting mentoring activity around particular topics, to hosting employee volunteering programmes.


In a strong period of growth for the site, Horsesmouth is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team in order to develop and manage partner relationships. This will include business development; account management and reporting as well as the development and execution of marketing plans.

The candidate will need excellent people and teamwork skills to thrive in our very small organisation, but most of all will be passionate about our mission and share our values.

Role: Senior Account Manager

Salary Level: Ł26,000-29,000

Project base location: Clerkenwell, London

Main Objectives:
To work with the CEO and Founder in growing horsesmouth.co.uk with a range of showcase partnerships which build and grow the public community of horsesmouth.co.uk and create a transformational “public service”.

Main Tasks:
The following tasks will form the major activities to be undertaken by the holder of the position:
Build and manage the relationships with current and potential partners of horsesmouth;
Creation and management of partner engagement materials, PR and Marketing plans;
Reporting and fulfillment of partner goals, objectives and metrics;
Management of partner community, content and editorial on the horsesmouth site;
development of creative and innovative solutions in response to client needs;
New business and product development;
Follow up on all contacts and leads from the CEO’s office;
Maintaining a marketplace knowledge of policy and practice in relevant areas;
Ensure the IP, knowledge and partner case histories of the organisation are codified.

Preferred Previous Roles:
At least 3 years experience in a client facing, account management or project management role in an advertising, marketing or digital agency; a major charity; a Government agency or a consultancy/ThinkTank.

How to apply Skills Required:
The candidate will be degree educated, and will ideally have agency based client management experience across more than one of our three sectors. Ideally the candidate will have Business Development, PR, editorial and marketing experience. He or she must be technologically literate, an enthusiastic user of social media and an expert at designing and building presentations on Keynote or Powerpoint. Basic HTML skills and experience with using a CMS will be a strong advantage. Excellent writing and literacy skills are essential and experience of bid and proposal writing will also be a strong advantage.
