| Job description | Large international language school is looking to appoint a Facilities Manager with excellent practical/technical skills, to ensure the smooth day to day running of our business.
You should be able to work on your own initiative and employ a hands on approach to get the job done. You will also be called upon to use technical skills to support the extensive IT infrastructure of the building. You should provide excellent customer service and remain calm when working to deadlines. Previous related experience desirable. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities: • Ensures building is kept in premium condition by carrying out routine ‘beauty checks’ and following up on issues. • Responsible for overseeing & checking the work of contracted external suppliers. • Sources new suppliers for services/goods in order to ensure that running costs are economic and services as good as possible. • Arranges/carries out repairs as required • Update & maintain school computers and ensures iLabs are kept organised and functioning • Sources cost effective quotes from external clients where required • Responsible for budgeting, maintaining supplies, keeping supplies accessible and tidy • Devises and follows an annual maintenance & facilities planner – e.g. regular window cleaning, redecoration, routine maintenance checks etc • Liaises with council on any local issues • Ensures appropriate signage is in place and notice boards are organised & effective • Maintains careful records of quotes, orders and invoices • Oversees any changes of furnishing as required • Dealing with student enquiries, requests and other administrative queries as required. • Ensures the health and safety procedures are up to date and fire equipment is checked regularly • Acts as Green Officer, ensuring wherever possible environmental concerns are addressed • Ensures that school supplies & equipment are in place and liaises with external suppliers regarding contracts, pricing and service. • Ensures classrooms are adequately furnished, well presented and appropriate for learning needs • Performs 24 hour rota emergency duties / available to attend site for out of hours emergencies as required |
