Job description Key Account Director is required by a leading international research agency to enhance and drive further the client revenue generated by assigned and existing blue chip clients. These client accounts will be within the consumer goods industry and the successful candidate will build a specialist reputation and relationship as a trusted adviser.

Working with a select number of globally recognised clients and consumer goods groups, the Key Account Director will be responsible for driving growth and developing the relationship on each, by becoming the partner of their clients and the expert that business issues and strategic challenges are shared with.

Overseeing the delivery of insights to satisfy the clients expectations by working closely with the research team, the successful candidate will be driven to win a significant volume of innovation and product testing business, as well as ad hoc and tracker projects, by participating in proposal and pitching activities as well as ensuring that client business objectives are attained.

Responsibilities include:

- Growth of sales and net revenue through proposal and pitching, meeting with clients on regular basis to discuss ways to develop additional business
- Creating multiple contacts within an existing client business to ensure the business is not dependent on one contact
- Fully understanding client business and business objectives
- Staying on trends and developments within market research
- Managing the team that service the client at director level
- Accountable for revenue targets, developing client plans
- Ensuring that research projects are delivered to brief, within budget and time frames.

Essential qualifications and knowledge:

- Substantial B2B sales experience with proven business development successes
- Substantial market research and or marketing experience in an agency environment
- Key account management background preferably within FMCG / consumer industry
- Understanding of market research methodologies and understanding of the importance of high quality research in marketing activity.
