Job title Research manager
Job description Decipher are looking for an energetic, motivated, and organised person to join our research team as a Research Manager.

Overview

Decipher is a media research company that specialises in television and digital media. Our TV lab, iBurbia Studios, is where we surround ourselves with the latest TV technology and work with the industry to understand how TV viewing is changing, the impact on advertising, and the strategies for broadcasters and platforms to understand and negotiate the changing world of media consumption.

Decipher’s research involves both qualitative and quantitative primary research, including recruitment, moderation, fieldwork, analysis, and project management. We run focus groups and interviews in our labs in Chiswick, and also manage a UK wide consumer database for our quantitative work. In addition to this, we often carry out off-site work, such as in-home interviews. Our research work is growing, and we are now looking for a new addition to the team.

As the role will often be client facing, the candidate will have to be highly personable, confident, and organised. The successful candidate would have a background in primary research fieldwork of one year or more, and can demonstrate experience with primary research techniques, and understanding of research methodologies. We are looking for someone highly motivated to latch onto the role, learn our processes and to develop them.

We have a large number of very high profile clients within the media industry, and this is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to work with some of the big names in TV, digital media, and advertising. The role will primarily focus on qualitative research, however some experience of quantitative research would be beneficial.

The role will attract a competitive salary based on skills and experience and will report to the Director of Research.

Responsibilities

The role will have following principle responsibilities:

Carrying out a range of qualitative fieldwork including focus groups, depth sessions, in-home interviews, and usability testing.
Designing methodologies for fieldwork, often on an ad hoc basis.
Writing proposals for research projects
Developing screeners for the recruitment of respondents
Analysing the results of fieldwork, and presenting feedback to the client.
Maintaining client relationships.
Entertaining and pitching to prospective clients
Assisting other members of the research team with ongoing projects.
