Job description Clay Perry is an eminent photographer, with well known dedication to horticulture. He has produced some 24 books, which have been commissioned by magazines worldwide, and shot many campaigns in the world of advertising. His work, including portrait photography and reportage has appeared in many publications including The Sunday Times, Country Living, World of Interiors, and Homes & Gardens. Several books featuring Clay's work have been published, including David Austin's English Roses -named Garden Book of the year-, Crabtree &Evelyn's Aromatherapy by Herbal-Quadrille, The Glory of the English Garden by Barrie & Jerkins, English Country Gardens by Weidenfeld & Nicolson, Fantastic Flowers by Kyle Cathie. Clay Perry had previously launched his book THE CURRENT SOUVENIR GUIDE TO WISLEY, at the "Chelsea Flower Show" and is currently working on a project for RHS, at Wisley Gardens.
Working with Clay as an Intern at his home office, in West London you will be required to assist him to archive his work in the most tech savvy manner. You will be asked to name the plants as well as properly categorizing, scanning, filing and archiving.
You will need to have had serious past or continuous education on horticulture and interest in the art of photography combined. You will be need to be able to do detailed web search. Advanced Photoshop knowledge will be play another important role in the decision making.
This will be a no-pay job requiring approximately 20 hours per week, details of which can be further discussed, during the interview. In return, you will have the opportunity to accompany the artist at the gardens during his photo shoots. You will work alongside the artist and the professional staff at the shoot sites. Clay currently teaches at the Chelsea Physic Garden. As an intern you will be naturally and continuously tutored by this professor, during the project hours. Due to the importance of the project, minimum six months of commitment will be needed. Reference for your CV will be provided at the end of this internship project.
