| Job description | Job Title: Cashier and Book-keeper
Location: Royal London College, Barking IG11 Reporting to: Operations Manager/Managing Director Position: Permanent, Full Time Salary: Negotiable Closing deadline for applications: Monday 15th August 2011 Job Summary: A well established private college is currently looking for a full time cashier/bookkeeper to head up the finance department. Working across all aspects of accounts this role is working within a professional yet flexible environment. The successful candidate will have an extensive accounting background with the ability to report financial information to non financial stake holders. Roles/Responsibilities: compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met prepare financial management reports ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities Monitor student payment flow; take necessary steps to collect unpaid fees in a strict and smooth manner according to the college financial procedure. Must maintain secure and up to date records of student fee collection continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities monitor and support taxation issues develop and maintain financial data bases financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems Essential: accounting degree or equivalent knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles knowledge of economic principles knowledge of auditing practices and principles knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations knowledge and experience of related computer applications usually a minimum of 5 years experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice To apply: If you have the requisite experience and would like to apply, please email your CV with a covering letter at info@rlcuk.org or 2 Abbey Road, Barking IG11 7AX, UK. |
