Job description Job Summary:

Royal London College, a fast growing organization, has already started Business process Re-engineering (BPR) to facilitate the organizational growth. In this pursuit an Operation Manager is required who will work alongside other departments especially Academic, Admin, Marketing & Finance. The main role for Operation manager is to monitor the whole business process. The position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. Operation manager will work with management team and interact with the Board of Directors.


Roles / responsibilities:

1. Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission -specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning
2. Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions
3. Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence
4. Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls
5. Management of agency budget in coordination with the Managing Director
6. Development of individual program budgets
7. Invoicing to funding sources, including calculation of completed units of service
8. Payroll management, including tabulation of accrued employee benefits
9. Disbursement of checks for agency expenses
10. Organization of fiscal documents
11. Regular meetings with Managing Director around fiscal planning.
12. Devising cost effective way to run the entire courses
13. Liaising with the awarding bodies
14. Liaising with the UKBA if necessary
15. Managing the college portfolio
16. Monitor the coordination regularly among the functional departments


Essential:
1. Commitment to social justice and the mission
2. At least 3 years experience in Operation Management (with proven achievement record
) with 5 years in leadership role (education sector preferable)
3. A minimum of a Masters Degree or equivalent in relevant functional area (PMP/ Six Sigma preferable)
4. Strong background and work experience in Finance
5. Excellent computer skills and proficient in Office Package (Sage line 50 and Sage payroll preferable)
6. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (Publication in education sector preferable)
7. Knowledge of UKBA regulation, Local government regulation and HM revenue & Customs regulation
8. Experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management for implementing best practices.
9. Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
10. Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
11. Budget development and oversight experience
12. A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
13. Knowledge of tax and other compliance implications of non-profit status
14. Excels at operating in an fast pace, community environment
15. Excellent people manager, open to direction and Collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
16. Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
17. Ability to look at situations from several points of view
18. Persuasive with details and facts
19. Delegate responsibilities effectively
20. High comfort level working in a diverse environment
