ote We are seeking someone with experience in organising and management of events for the role of (Volunteer) Events Organiser in which you will support Safe UK more forward in its development of profile raising and holding events for young people and take us to the next steps. You must also be able to commit to a minimum of 6 months (more if you can offer this) Safe UK is a not for profit young people s organisation that provides free independent information advice and support to all young people aged 11 to 25 years old who live work study or socialise in London regardless of their gender background culture religion sexual orientation disabilities etc. Safe UK is currently in its initial set up and developmental stage and is currently building its policies procedures and organisation systems and structure to ensure that our core services will meet the needs of the young people we aim to reach. Safe UK will be providing the following core services to young people across London Information Advice and Guidance Counselling Personal Development and Life Skills Art Drama and Music Therapy Life Coaching Alternative Therapies Sexual Health Services and Social and Support Groups. We are currently seeking a Volunteer for the position of Events Organiser for approx 6-8 hours per week (flexible) to join our team at Safe UK. Your first event will be to organise participate and ensure the smooth running of Safe UK s Launch Event in April 2011. This event will be launching our organisation to the public and let people know who we are and what we aim to do. As we are a very new organisation we don t currently have funding so either sourcing free or very cheap resources to help us achieve this goal is needed. If you have experience of applying for funding and can do so then this would be even better but not essential. The main responsibility of this role is to organise all internal events managing the process from start to finish including sourcing venues staging the event follow-up and analysis manage all external corporate events including corporate entertainment external promotional events and other miscellaneous events. While keeping up to date with Charity Law affecting fundraising and events as well as events management you will support the organisation by raising its profile across all the sectors (Private Public Third) in London. Other duties include Develop and implement new fundraising events working within the context of an agreed Events plan and overall Fundraising plan Undertake feasibility and risk assessments of each event Devise develop and present creative and innovative ideas for fundraising events in order to raise funds and the profile of the organisation Ensure that appropriate literature and materials are provided at events and that records are kept of all income generated from fundraising events Undertake evaluation of fundraising events including assessment of income raised and feedback from participants and if appropriate suggest improvements for future events Ensure internal and external publications staff communications and other publications are utilised in full to market events and promote the charity. You must have Events experience and be confident in diary management. You must be open to change and demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach and you must be able to work collaboratively with other departments and be a supportive and affective member of the Management Team. This role requires 1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills 2. A creative inventive outlook and the ability to articulate and implement ideas 3. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines 4. Ability to multi-task and work effectively on several active projects at any one time 5. Drive initiative and enthusiasm 6.
