ant a volunteer role with passion and purpose? Do you believe that 11-25 year olds can change the world and are you committed to inspiring and supporting them on this journey? We are looking for a highly motivated dedicated person to lead the growing youth participation agenda in our new and fantastic organisation Safe UK. You should be experienced in empowering young people to take an active role in their communities and in managing projects you will be responsible for ensuring the involvement of young people in decision-making and service planning delivery and evaluation of Safe UK. You will have a qualification in youth work or other youth related qualification and be committed to the principles of participation. This is a high profile post so the ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels including professionals elected members young people and groups of young people will be essential. You must also be able to commit to a minimum of 6 months (more if you can offer this) and for at least 8 hours per month. Safe UK is a not for profit young people s organisation that provides free independent information advice and support to all young people aged 11 to 25 years old who live work study or socialise in London regardless of their gender background culture religion sexual orientation disabilities etc. Safe UK is currently in its initial set up and developmental stage and is currently building its policies procedures and organisation systems and structure to ensure that our core services will meet the needs of the young people we aim to reach. Safe UK will be providing the following core services to young people across London Information Advice and Guidance Counselling Personal Development and Life Skills Art Drama and Music Therapy Life Coaching Alternative Therapies Sexual Health Services and Social and Support Groups. We are currently seeking a Volunteer for the position of Youth Participation Officer for approx 8 hours per month (flexible) to join our team at Safe UK. The main responsibility of this role is to coordinate and develop the youth participation of Safe UK which includes recruiting training and facilitating the Youth Forum (young people s Board of Trustees) and its business along with the Youth Ambassadors. Other duties include To ensure the involvement of young people in the decision making processes including presence on the Youth Forum enabling them to express their views and opinions give ideas suggestions and have influence over the growth and development of Safe UK To get young people engaged in promoting Safe UK internally and externally To coordinate the yearly election process of the Youth Forum ensuring all service users get a vote To ensure the work of the Youth Ambassadors is recognised and rewarded To develop and deliver appropriate training to young people staff and volunteers on the youth participation agenda at Safe UK To be responsible for the Health and Safety of young people you are working with To ensure the equality and diversity policy is upheld in the delivery access and attitude of both yourself and the young people To assisting in writing funding bids To collect collate the recorded information To Provide statistical reports on monthly basis enabling the organisation to promote the great work being completed You Should Have 1. Expereince of working with young people preferably in descion making processes 2. Excellent Communication skills 3. The ability to engage with young people 4. Excellent Customer Service skills 5.
